Dinair Personal Pro Kits Reviews

Dinair is one of the best-known brand of airbrush makeup products. Founded almost thirty years ago, Dinair remains a world leader in airbrush makeup. The Personal-Pro kits by Dinair are the cheapest of the Dinair range and start at $229. Although they are intended primarily for home use, amateur photography and small salon work, they are used professionally by many people. This kit includes four different variations, at different prices.

Can't get refund
I have been trying to get a refund from Dinair since December and it’s now February and they still have not made good on their promise. Do not trust these people!
Loved it
I have purchased two machines not because of any flaw in the system but because I loved it so much. I use mine as a make up artist. Those of you with oily skin, there are solutions that work to take out the oils before you spray. If you are getting cracking you are for sure spraying at to high, or to much, to close….the make up does not crack unless you do it incorrectly. I order make up on a regular basis. I have one machine used for special FX make up and another for my brides and glamour type make up. Thank you Dinair, amazing!
Always clogged
My Dinair always is clogged, the makeup does not come out at all. This started to happen from day one. I was told by staff to “clean it”. Even after cleaning, makeup does not spray out. Using the recommended Dinair makeup
Broken on Arrival
My Dinair was broken when I received it. I caled Dinair to report the issue. They emailed me a ways to fix the problem, but it still didn’t work. I had to send it back and they charged me a restock fee of over $30 not to mention it cost me money to ship it back. WHAT A RIP OFF ! Now to try and find a good company to order another airbrush from. Any recommendation ? “This was my first airbrush “
Makes a big difference
I started with a Luminous airbrush kit and at first it workedf fine, then it stopped working. I have been thru 3 guns. They have been great but still does not work. Now I have dinair. I love it. I fine that the makeup sprays finer then the luminous and that it is lighter. Yes, it is time consuming with cleaning and wet docking. But it makes a difference in your look. I love it Dinair.
What are they doing there?? Obviously not working
Maybe today I will be heard.
I have been completely dissatisfied with my experience with Dinair. As you can see, I placed my order Dec 18, I barely had it 2 weeks before sending it back. It is now April 10, and I still haven’t received my refund. “100% satisfaction guarantee” needs to be removed from your web site, along with the statement “risk free money back guarantee”. I am out shipping money to receive the product, shipping to send it back, and from what I’m told I will also be charged a restocking fee. So, it has been anything but “risk free money back guarantee” nor “100% satisfaction”. I have called numerous times, in which I have spoken to an actual person in the returns department, three times. The other times, people have been at lunch, on break, out on a shoot or some demonstration. Then no one returns my calls, or answers my e-mails. I’m sure this time as well my message will yet again, go unanswered and ignored. What are they doing there? Obviously not working, and ruining the Dinair name. What do I have to do, fly to California and be there in person to be heard?
Difficult refund
I ordered both the glamour and paramedical foundations and the medium priced kit.
The paramedical colors were a little off. I didn’t think it looked good on me at all. The glamour colors were a better match but I can get that level of coverage from a good mineral makeup.
Perhaps a young person or someone who doesn’t need a lot of coverage would like this kit. You have to use a lot more foundation than the videos let on to achieve any kind of coverage. By the time I got the level of coverage I needed the make up was too heavy.
The smoothing serum peeled underneath the foundation, looked terrible around my eyes.
And don’t get me started on their accounting/refund dept. I returned the unit on 12/23/2011. Several emails and phone calls later I finally got an email indicating a PARTIAL refund on 3/14/12. They shorted me the $45 for the smoothing serum. I have sent TWO emails and not received a response. Surprise. Surprise

Awful product
WARNING DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!! It is plain awful has my system since December and returned the compressor twice because it stopped working on the first use each time. I wish I could return everything for my money back but that’s not allowed. I am a professional esthetician and would never EVER use any of their products on a client… Or myself for that matter. Oh yeah and their customer service sucks.
Makeup good, color bad, customer service terrible
I purchased my kit from dinair at the end of last year 2011. I set up a payment plan with my credit card. I was so excited about my makeup kit. Prior to ordering my kit I sent in a picture and had dinair to match me with the color shades that matched my skin. Once I received the kit I used it every day for the first couple of weeks. I havent touched it in 2 months because no matter what color combination I’ve tried I cant seem to get a good match. Aside from the color issue I like the makeup. The thing I really dont care for is the customer service. The representatives arent rude but they dont seem to know much about whats going on when you call. After dinair took the first two payments they stopped taking payments out of my account. When I called to find out why the money wasnt taken out the representative didnt have a answer but assured me the payment would be taken out the next day. Its been three weeks and they still havent taken out the payment. I called dinair to find out why the payment wasnt taken out and the representative informed me the payment showed pending on their end with a date from three weeks ago and she wasnt sure why. She placed me on hold a couple of times and came back stating to expect the payment within the next week. I asked her to provide me with the future payment dates and she said she “thinks” it will be next month. So I asked her to ask someone who would know this information. She placed me on hold again. This time when she comes back to the phone she says her supervisor just told her that all accounts under a payment plan are now being handled through a third party company. I was told I would have to call them to find out the payment schedule. So now Im having to call another company to continue making payments on my kit. It would have been nice to know this information three weeks ago. Ive contacted the third party company and because dinair did NOT forward all of my contact information to them they have not been able to process my last payment. As a result my account is listed as a past due account. So my experience with dinair hasn’t been all that great.
First year was great
I purchased a Dinair almost 2 years ago. In the first year (or so) it was great… no major problems. However, throughout the 2nd year, I’ve had major problems with the gun (at least, I’m assuming it’s the gun). I’ve taken it apart (as per Customer Service’s suggestions and the videos on their web site), cleaned it, put it back together, etc., etc., etc. Still, the thing is either clogged / blocked / broken… I just can’t figure out what’s wrong. It’s so clogged that if I move my compressor up too much, the hose pops off! I’m not sure if I should purchase a new gun or whole kit. However, I am re-thinking Dinair as a whole and may try a different airbrush kit altogether. I LOVE how it looks once it’s on, but for me, the maintenance has just not been worth it.
I love my Dinair machine
I’ve been using my Dinair for a year. I will never EVER go back to normal foundation. I’ve noticed that a lot of reviews for airbrush makeup mentions that it is time consuming or doesn’t last long.
My foundation takes about one minute to apply. It took me a few tries to get used to using the machine, but now it’s so much faster than applying conventional foundation.
In regards to the airbrush foundation not lasting, no makeup will last unless you properly prep your skin. Your skin must be clean, moisturized, and you must use a primer for any makeup to stay. I can fall asleep with this foundation on, and still have my skin look flawless in the morning.
I love my Dinair machine!
